Community Savings Opens its 31st Branch
Credit union introduces added convenience with its new Lethbridge Branch
"We are really excited to be opening a second location in West Lethbridge," said Wayne Brewer, Southwest Regional Manager. "Since we opened the Scenic Drive Branch three years ago, we have experienced tremendous growth, especially in the small to mid-sized business sector. This new branch will enable us to better serve our existing members and hopefully attract new members in the area."
On Monday, April 28th Community Savings will open the West Lethbridge Branch, which is its second location in Lethbridge. This branch is also the 31st location in Alberta, and is part of the growth strategy to open ten new branches in five years.
Situated on one of the busiest street corners in West Lethbridge, the new branch is located at 65 Columbia Blvd W. Positioned directly across from the University of Lethbridge, this new 3,500 square-foot branch will provide easy access for students, businesses and the 25,000 residents living in the area. The branch will house eleven staff members and two Community Savings Insurance employees. Members will enjoy extended hours including evenings and Saturdays, as well as a 24-hour Drive-Thru ATM.
Statistics Canada reveals that Lethbridge has experienced an 11 percent increase in population since 2001. The region has a high percentage of young, working class families and is expected to continue along this trend. Lethbridge is a great place to live and work and Community Savings is proud to be a part of the community.
"Opening a second location in Lethbridge represents the confidence that we have in this growing market," explains Debra Brown, Branch Manager. "We are committed to serving our members and the communities in which they live through our sponsorship, scholarship and gift in kind programs. Throughout the last three years, Community Savings has contributed nearly $500,000 to various community initiatives including the Galt Museum, Community Savings Place and the Lethbridge Regional Hospital Foundation."
Community Savings is celebrating the Grand Opening of the West Lethbridge location on May 10, 2008. During the week leading up to the event, residents can take part in the Great Pie Hunt promotion. Local radio station, the Lounge 94.1, will be broadcasting clues for people to find hidden pies located throughout the city. The lucky winners will win at least $100 and the chance to enter the Community Savings Money Tunnel for the chance to win up to $5,000 at the Grand Opening.
Community Credit Union, operating as Community Savings, has 31 locations in 24 Alberta communities geographically distributed from Ponoka south to the US border. Community Savings provides a complete line of banking services, including registered accounts, financing, investments, insurance and commercial banking. With assets of $2.7 billion, it is the 2nd largest credit union in Alberta and the 6th largest in Canada. Its head office is located in Red Deer. Community Savings will amalgamate with Servus and Common Wealth Credit Union on November 1, 2008 to provide financial services province-wide.
