(EDMONTON, Alberta) After opening its doors five years ago this month, the Servus Credit Union branch in Okotoks, formerly known as Community Savings, will receive a colorful facelift to the exterior of the building. As part of the November 1, 2008 amalgamation of Servus Credit Union, Community Savings and Common Wealth Credit Union, the new province-wide credit union will be replacing all signage to Servus Credit Union.
“This milestone project shows the progress of our amalgamation to date, and signifies us coming together as one unified credit union to better serve the needs of our member-owners,” says Garth Warner, Servus Credit Union President & CEO. “We are very proud to be the first province-wide credit union in Canada. Our scope enables us to provide our signature service to members throughout Alberta - from Lethbridge to Fort McMurray and everywhere in between.”
Servus Credit Union will continue changing the external signs on its branches, one community at a time, until all 100 locations in 63 Alberta communities are easily identified with the same Servus look and feel. The estimated completion date to have all Servus locations switched to the new signage is October 31, 2009, exactly one year from the amalgamation.
In recognition of the new branch signage, Servus Credit Union hosted the Servus Night at the Movies at Seaman Stadium on Friday, June 19th. Over 150 people attended and all proceeds from the event were donated to The Rowan House. If you happened to miss the movie night you can join the celebration at the Okotoks branch today, located at #131 - 71 Riverside Dr West.
Watch for new branch signage in the following communities by the end of August 2009: Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Lacombe, Lethbridge and Sylvan Lake.
Servus Credit Union is a full service member-owned financial institution serving more than 400,000 members through a network of 100 locations in 63 Alberta communities. As of its November 1, 2008 amalgamation with Common Wealth Credit Union and Community Savings, Servus has $10 billion in assets, making it the third largest nationally and Canada’s first province-wide credit union. The credit union provides a complete line of banking services, including registered accounts, financing, investments, insurance, commercial banking, 24-hour on-line and telephone banking. The credit union has approximately 2,000 employees. Servus Credit Union has been named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies since 2003.
