A number of Servus Credit Union ATMs are currently
being outfitted with new security features to protect
members from card skimming and fraudulent devices.
The upgraded card readers are referred to as "jitters".
When a MemberCard is inserted into the ATM, the reader
will shake, or "jitter", the card as it
slides through the reader. As a result of the jittering
motion, any illegal skimming devices potentially attached
to the ATM would be unable to read the card information.
The card is slower going into the machine and coming
out than in ATMs that do not have the installed card
reader.
The new card reader is for your protection and security.
